​Indian Navy Agniveer – Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR)​

As Agniveer (SSR) you will be a part of a high-tech organization. You will get to serve in powerful, modern ships like aircraft carriers, guided missile destroyers, frigates and highly technological and exotic submarines and aircraft. Agniveer candidates age should be between 17½ years to 21 years. To become Agniveer in Navy, you must have passed 12th with Mathematics and Physics with at least 50% marks. For this, candidates appearing for 12th exam will also be able to apply.

This recruitment is conducted in collaboration with UPSC. Candidates age should be between 16.5 to 19.5 years. Candidates must have completed 12th from a recognized board or university. In this, a written examination is conducted by UPSC. Students who pass it go further for SSB interview. After this, UPSC prepares a final merit list after conducting a medical examination by the Indian Navy. For NDA Navy, appointments are made by IHQ MoD (Army)/ADG (Recruitment) and for Naval Academy appointments are made by IHQ MoD/DMPR.

CDS examination is a national level defense entrance examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to recruit officers for the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. To apply for this, your age should be 20-24 years. Candidates should have engineering degree from a recognized university. There is a written examination in CDS which is conducted by UPSC. After that there is SSB interview. Medical examination is conducted by Indian Navy (only for Navy candidates). After this UPSC prepares a final merit list and the selected candidates are inducted into the Navy.

With the CDSE advertisement, jobs are released for NCC ‘C’ certificate holders in Naval Wing Senior Division. Candidates should have B.E./B.Tech degree with NCC certificate. No written examination is conducted for this. Eligible candidates are required to send their application directly to IHQ MoD (N)/DMPR through DGNCC. After this the candidates have to pass the SSB interview. Candidates who are successful in SSB appear for medical test. If found fit, they join the Indian Navy on the basis of All India Merit.

In this, students who have passed 12th with 70% marks in PCM can apply. Along with this, they should have got 50% marks in English in class 10th or 12th. Rank in JEE (Mains) is also mandatory to apply for admission in 10+2 (B.Tech). Candidates are shortlisted for SSB on the basis of All India Rank. After SSB, merit list of qualified candidates is prepared. Candidates are appointed in order of merit based on their number in the list.

Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) is an officer entry test conducted under IHQ MoD (Navy)/DMPR. This is for both permanent commission and short service commission. INET is organized twice a year. You can visit www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. You can apply by going to. INET (Officer) is a computer based written examination. It consists of four sections and the candidate has to score minimum 40% marks in all the four sections. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of INET rank cum preference. Shortlisted candidates attend SSB interview. Merit list is prepared on the basis of marks of both INET (50% weightage) and SSB (50% weightage) and they join Navy.
