T20 World Cup: Pace attack increases India’s worries, Bumrah will miss number-2, who will be his partner?

New Delhi. What is missing in the Indian team of T20 World Cup? Among the things that come to mind after this question, the answer related to fast bowling is very important. The answer which is also contradictory. India, which has the most dangerous bowler in the world, may be missing a great partner in the T20 World Cup. Yes, the kind of support that Mohammed Shami gave to Jasprit Bumrah in the World Cup 2023, hardly anyone will give the same support in the T20 World Cup 2024.

It may not be fair to compare a national team with an IPL team, but lessons can be learned from either. Let us take the example of Jasprit Bumrah’s IPL team Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians includes legends like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Bumrah. Despite this, this team remained at the last position in the points table. The reason is clear – along with big players in the team, right balance is also necessary, which was not visible at least in the fast bowling of Mumbai Indians.

IPL 2024 RCB vs CSK: The biggest match, one match will clear the entire picture of the playoffs, all ifs and buts will be over.

Other pacers are not even close to Jasprit
Jasprit Bumrah remained the purple cap holder for a long time in IPL 2024. He has taken 20 wickets in the tournament at an average of 16.80. During this period, his economy rate has been 6.48. There is not a single bowler in IPL 2024 who has taken a single wicket with an economy of less than 6.00. In the entire tournament, only one wicket taker bowler’s economy rate is less than Bumrah. Nathan Ellis has taken one wicket at an economy rate of 6.00.

Bumrah will be the biggest force in the World Cup
These figures are enough to prove the excellent bowling of Jasprit Bumrah. Despite this, Mumbai Indians remained at the last position in the point tally of IPL. Indian bowlers will need to understand this in the T20 World Cup. There is no doubt that Bumrah will be India’s biggest strength in the World Cup. But there is a question mark on the bowlers who are in the team to support this strength.

Siraj-Pandya’s form is scaring
Four pacers including all-rounder Hardik Pandya have been selected in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup. Apart from Bumrah, these include Mohammad Siraj and Arshdeep Singh. Arshdeep Singh has taken 17 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 27.52 in IPL 2024. His economy rate was 10.10. Mohammad Siraj took 12 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 35.66. His was 9.30. Hardik Pandya took 11 wickets in 13 matches with an average of 32.72 and strike rate of 10.58.

Expecting better performance from Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh’s performance gives hope but there are questions on the form of Siraj and Pandya. However, both Siraj and Pandya have bowled better in the second half of the IPL. Both of them have shown signs of returning to form. Now it remains to be seen how these two bowlers perform in the T20 World Cup. It is expected that Bumrah will get good support from the other pacers and the Indian team will all out the opponents. The question still remains as to who will be Bumrah’s partner with the new ball.
