You can learn from Virat to score fast runs through classical batting… South African legend becomes a fan of Kohli

New Delhi. In cricket, batsmen often adapt themselves to different formats. While classical batting is seen in Test cricket, strange shots are seen in T20. In T20, most of the batsmen play creative shots like switch hit, reverse sweep, reverse slap, paddle sweep, scoop to score fast runs. But in the era of these unusual shots, there are also batsmen like Virat Kohli, who have the ability to score runs faster than classical batting.

Hashim Amla, one of the greats of South Africa, says, ‘I think Virat Kohli is a perfect example of scoring runs with the right technique in cricket. He is a classical batsman, who has beautiful technique and hunger to score runs. Amla said all these things to Raman Raheja during the 180 Not Out podcast.

IPL playoffs: By how many runs will RCB have to win in the do or die match with CSK? Or how many overs.. what does the equation say?

Hashim Amla said, ‘We have seen him (Virat) playing in ODIs. He showed amazing performance in the ODI World Cup. I don’t think there was any lack of classicalness in his batting during this period. Virat Kohli had scored a record 765 runs in the World Cup 2023.

Amla says, ‘I have opened or batted at number three in ODI and Test cricket. So I know that your technique should be right to face the new ball. But unfortunately, technology is continuously being ignored in T20 cricket. You try to score runs fast in this format. The role of power is increasing in this effort.
