NHRC India strives to improve human rights, strengthen national human rights institutions




The National Human Rights Commission of India strives to build partnerships and work together to improve human rights and strengthen National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) in the region.

NHRC Chairman Justice Arun Mishra and Secretary General Bharat Lal attended the ‘regional meeting’ of the Asia Pacific Forum (APF) of NHRIs (National Human Rights Institutions) in Geneva.

Additionally, NHRC Chairman Justice Arun Mishra and Secretary General Bharat Lal participated in the Governance Committee meeting of the Asia Pacific Forum (APF) of NHRIs.

The mid-term report of its directors, annual operational plan and budget (2024-25) and APF policies were considered at the meeting.

Last Tuesday, NHRC India conducted several activities to create awareness about the promotion and protection of human rights.

Furthermore, its monthly newsletter is an effort in that direction, providing information related to human rights and the Commission’s interventions in the country.
