Lok Sabha Elections: Will the Prime Minister condemn the attack on Kanhaiya? Congress leader Jairam Ramesh’s question to Modi

New Delhi: Congress on Saturday condemned the attack on its candidate from North-East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, Kanhaiya Kumar. Also asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi whether he would condemn this incident in his public meeting to be held in this parliamentary constituency. On Friday, a youth had assaulted Kanhaiya Kumar during the election campaign in the North-Eastern Lok Sabha constituency. Congress alleges that the youth who attacked is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh posted on ‘X’, referring to Prime Minister Modi’s public meeting, ‘Will the Prime Minister condemn the violent attack on Kanhaiya Kumar by an associate of MP Manoj Tiwari or take any action? Why has the Modi government failed to stop the increasing crime in North-East Delhi? He also asked what happened to Manoj Tiwari’s plan to clean Yamuna? He said, ‘Yesterday, Kanhaiya Kumar, the Lok Sabha candidate of the Congress and ‘India’ alliance from North-East Delhi, was attacked in a planned manner by a goon associated with the BJP. The attacker had shared the stage with sitting MP Manoj Tiwari and was also arrested three months ago on charges of attempting to incite communal violence.

Ramesh asked, ‘Will the Prime Minister say anything against this violence? Will he have the courage to deny Manoj Tiwari and his links with the accused? Will he take any action against the accused? Or was this attack another example of the Prime Minister’s strategy to intimidate the opposition?’ He also asked why the Modi government has failed to stop the increasing crime in North-East Delhi?
