Fact Check: Did Nitish Kumar meet the leaders of INDIA alliance, know the truth of the video viral on social media


New Delhi: A video is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in this video JDU chief Nitish Kumar is seen meeting with the leaders of INDIA alliance. The video is being shared with the claim that this video is recent and Nitish Kumar has again joined hands with INDIA alliance. However, in our investigation, this video turned out to be misleading.

What is being claimed on social media?
Speculating about the formation of Modi Government 3.0, a user on X (Twitter) wrote, “What has happened? The game is still going to be played in Congress office. India’s government.” This post has been viewed more than five lakh times on X till the time of writing.

How was the video investigated?
To investigate the viral video, we searched the related keyword “nitish tejashwi rahul gandhi meet” on Google. Here we found on Youtube A video was found. This video was on the official YouTube channel of Midday India.

This video was uploaded on 12 April 2023. At the same time, its title read, “Rahul Gandhi after meeting Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav: Historic step to unite the opposition.”

In the video, Nitish Kumar was welcomed by a man wearing a red turban, this scene can also be seen in the viral video. Rahul Gandhi was seen posing for a photo with Tejashwi Yadav, Nitish Kumar and Kharge.

Apart from this, we found a report by NDTV which stated that top leaders of JDU, RLD and Congress met to form a joint opposition front to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

conclusion
Investigation of the viral video made it clear that this video is not recent. The video is from April 2023, when Nitish Kumar met the leaders of India Block at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. It is being shared misleadingly by calling it a recent incident.
