Dreaded Pakistani player who has served jail sentence, may be out of T20 World Cup

New Delhi. Pakistan cricket team always comes into discussion for some reason or the other. After the ICC ODI World Cup, captain Babar Azam left the captaincy of all three formats but before the T20 World Cup, he was given this responsibility again. Fast bowler Mohammad Amir announced his retirement just before this mega tournament. The selectors gave him a place in the team for the upcoming T20 series against Ireland. Now news is coming that this player, who has been sentenced to jail for spot-fixing, has faced difficulty in getting a visa to tour Ireland.

The Pakistan cricket team going on tour to Ireland gave place to Mohammad Aamir, who returned after retiring from retirement. The decision on the 15 players to be selected in the ICC T20 World Cup will be taken from the 18-member team. Aamir has made a place in the team but it became difficult for him to go with the team on the Ireland tour. In fact, this very reason is coming in the way of granting visa to this bowler who has served jail sentence for spot-fixing.

Aamir will not go to Ireland with the team
Mohammad Amil, who was found guilty in spot-fixing in 2010, was sentenced to jail and was also banned. For this reason, there has been a problem in the process of issuing his visa to visit Ireland. PCB said that a similar problem had to be faced in the year 2018 also but later the visa was issued. At present, Aamir will not be able to go on this tour with the Pakistan team. PCB hopes that the visa problems will be resolved in a day or two.

Difficult to play in the World Cup
If Mohammad Aamir does not get a visa to tour Ireland, his dream of playing the T20 World Cup may be shattered. Pakistan has currently selected an 18-member team out of which 15 names will be finalised. It will be difficult for him to be selected without playing any match before the T20 World Cup. Pakistan Cricket Board would like to avoid going to such a big tournament with a player who does not have match practice.
