Chennai Super Kings take steps towards playoffs… return to top 4

New Delhi. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) strengthened their hopes of reaching the playoffs by defeating Punjab Kings by 28 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 match on Sunday. CSK tasted victory after five consecutive defeats against Punjab. After being invited to bat first, CSK scored 167 runs for 9 wickets and then avenged the defeat against the team 4 days ago by restricting Punjab’s innings to 139 runs for 9 wickets. CSK returned to the top 4 in the points table after their sixth win in 11 matches, while Punjab’s hopes of reaching the playoffs after their 7th defeat in 11 matches have suffered a big blow.
