Congress decided to form internal committees to review the election defeat, Adani and Manipur issue also discussed.

New Delhi: Congress has decided that the party will form internal committees to review organizational matters ranging from review of the results of the recent assembly elections. Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal gave this information to the media after the meeting of the CWC, the highest policy making body of the Congress, held on Friday. In this meeting which lasted for about four and a half hours, while on one hand the party discussed the reasons for the defeat, brainstormed on its shortcomings, on the other hand it also discussed the questions arising regarding the election process including EVMs. During this, Congress also passed a resolution. , which includes forming an internal committee to consider important issues of the party, as well as condemning the ‘systematic effort by the BJP to incite communal tension’ on the Adani issue, the situation in Manipur, UP and elsewhere, the Places of Worship Act, Reiterated its strong commitment to the original spirit of 1991, which is being openly violated by BJP, thanked the people and workers of Wayanad for the victory of Priyanka Gandhi and expressed solidarity with the people across the country for the compromise being made with the integrity of the electoral process. Important points like the beginning of the movement were included. Whereas regarding the Maharashtra election results, Venugopal said that the election results in the state were beyond normal understanding and it seems to be a clear case of targeted manipulation. At the same time, Congress has decided that it will organize an event in the country on the occasion of completion of 100 years of Mahatma Gandhi becoming the Congress President.

81 people attended CWC meeting

It is noteworthy that in 1924, a historic convention was organized in Belgaum, Karnataka under the chairmanship of Mahatma Gandhi. That was the only occasion when Gandhiji attended the Congress session as President. It is noteworthy that 81 people including Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, Priyanka Gandhi and media in-charge Jairam Ramesh participated in the CWC meeting. Even the CM and Deputy CM of Congress ruled states of the state were included in this. On the other hand, regarding the ongoing deadlock in the current session of Parliament, Venugopal accused the Modi government of ignoring three important national issues – the recent revelations about corruption by a business group and the incidents in Manipur and Sambhal in UP. The session has so far been in vain due to the adamant refusal to have an immediate discussion on the violence.

While talking to the media after the meeting, Delhi Congress President Devendra Yadav said that the use of ballot paper was also included in the agenda in the meeting, this was also discussed. In view of the way Congress President Kharge has shown the mirror to the party members by bluntly pointing out the shortcomings within the party in the meeting, it is believed that in the coming times, widespread changes will be seen in the Congress organization.
