New Delhi: The deep depression formed over the South-West Bay of Bengal turned into a cyclonic storm on Friday afternoon. According to IMD, this cyclone will make landfall between North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry on November 30. At the time of landfall, winds can blow at a speed of 90 kilometers per hour. After this the storm will weaken.

Cyclone will reach Tamil Nadu today

According to IMD, the deep depression turned into a cyclonic storm at 2.30 pm. It is likely to reach near Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast on the afternoon of 30 November. During this period, the turbulence in the sea has increased. The sea has taken a dangerous form in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. Due to Cyclone Fangal, high waves are rising in the sea and high tide is being seen in the coastal areas.

According to IMD, this cyclone can make landfall in Mahabalipuram and its surrounding areas by Saturday afternoon. Landfall may occur near Puducherry between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram. At the time of landfall, the wind speed can be 70 to 80 kilometers per hour while strong winds can even reach the speed of 90 kilometers per hour. According to scientists, while hitting the coast, it may weaken and turn into a deep pressure area.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over North Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on Saturday. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over interior Tamil Nadu on Sunday. There is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places over Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the weekend. Fishermen have been advised not to go into the sea for the next few days. The administration has given instructions to take people living in low-lying areas to safe places.
