Your children are studying in a library without books and in a class without computers! They are not even getting drinking water: Report

Many shocking facts have also come to light in the report prepared for all the 69 recognized school education boards of the country. The infrastructure of schools affiliated to various school boards has been exposed. If there is a library in the school, then it is natural that there will be books there. But 39% of the boards have indicated that there are no books in the libraries of the schools affiliated to them. Along with this, the issue of not having drinking water and computers, which is most important for digital education in the present times, has also come to light.

This analysis shows that not only is there a huge difference in the syllabus and exam pattern of school boards, but the lack of infrastructure in the schools affiliated to them is also a big factor, which affects classroom teaching. This analysis was done for the schools of 69 recognized education boards in the country.

The analysis has revealed that 39% of the schools affiliated to the board schools have almost no books in their libraries, which is a matter of concern. 18% of the board schools have 1 to 200 books in their libraries. 43% of the board schools have more than 200 books in their libraries. This means that there is no shortage of books in the libraries of about 43% of the board schools. But there is a shortage of books in the libraries of a very large number of schools.

The report says that in the National Curriculum Framework (School Education)- 2023, the library has been considered a very important part of the learning and teaching process. Library period has been made mandatory in the timetable of classes up to the middle stage. It has been said to promote new experiments including digital library.

5% board schools do not even have computers

The report says that at least 12 school boards have reported that only a few of their affiliated schools have computer facilities. 50% boards have computers in most of their schools, while 45% boards have this facility in only a few of their schools. 5% boards do not have computers in any of their schools. This means that in this era of IT and digital technology, students of these boards do not get any information from their schools.

At the same time, many schools in the country are lagging behind in terms of basic facilities. It has been revealed that only 54% board schools have drinking water facilities. Flush toilet facilities are available only in 32% board schools. It has been recommended that every school of every board should have basic facilities under all circumstances.
