‘You will drown in debt, you will not get a job in the US’, who advised Indian students going to do master’s degree in America?

This is because an American student has warned Indian students about its disadvantages. he/she said that students are at risk of becoming indebted after earning a master’s degree from the US. The 26-year-old American woman recently took to social media platform Reddit to share her views on the increasing number of Indian students taking admission in master’s programs in American universities. A lot of reaction from people has also been seen on this post. Expressing concern, this student studying in an American university said that there are many Indian students who are unknowingly walking on a path which is completely misleading. he/she also talked about the low chances of getting a job.

99% of students studying computer science in universities are Indians

The American woman said she was previously working at a university, where she decided to take advantage of its employee benefits and pursue a master’s degree in computer science there. “I immediately realized that 99 percent of the students studying computer science here are Indian,” she says. She said it was unusual to have such a large number of international students in one place. Especially when the university is not even counted among the top institutions.

Why are Indians studying in America?

The American woman talked to her classmates and tried to understand the reason why Indian students want to study higher education in America. he/she told that Indian students are studying here because they think that having an American degree will make it easier for them to get visas and get jobs.

However, the American woman expressed doubt on his/her decisions, because at present there is a lot of competition in the American market. She said, “I feel like it’s going to be really hard for all these kids to get a job in America. It’s already hard for American kids.”

Increasing financial pressure on students

Pointing out great concern, the Reddit user said that these students are studying here under financial pressure. “They’re coming here deep in debt, the professors aren’t very good and they probably won’t be able to get a job in America,” she said. he/she believes that studying in America is a risky investment. A Reddit user has compared Indian students’ attempts to study in the US to a potential scam. he/she says this is an expensive endeavor with uncertain results. “I really feel bad for them,” the American woman said.
