If one is safe, this slogan echoed from Maharashtra to Jharkhand on the last day of election campaign.

New Delhi: Election campaigning came to a halt in Maharashtra and Jharkhand on Monday evening. While in Maharashtra the election campaign revolved around one slogan – If we are together then we are safe, whereas in Jharkhand the focus of the election campaign has been on tribal identity and infiltration. Even though the current ruling party of Maharashtra and the ruling party of Jharkhand said that they are contesting the elections in the name of development, the election campaign was dominated by other issues.

‘If we divide we will be cut’ continues to dominate in Maharashtra

UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s slogan – Bantenge to Katnge – dominated the Maharashtra elections. When objection was raised by Mahayuti’s allies regarding this slogan, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave another version of this slogan and said that it is safe if it is one. Maharashtra’s election campaign revolved around this.

‘This slogan of PM means…’

On the last day of the election campaign, different versions of this slogan came out. Where Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that this slogan of PM means that a billionaire should be promoted. he/she took out two posters from the safe. In which one poster had the photo of PM and industrialist Gautam Adani and it was written that if one is safe then it is safe. Through another poster it was said that Dharavi is being destroyed for the sake of one person.

BJP’s counterattack

Whereas BJP retorted that Congress breaks into the safe, hence Rahul Gandhi understands safe to mean safe. Even after the campaign period was over, the ‘war’ continued on social media between the party and the opposition regarding this slogan. Almost the entire election campaign in Maharashtra was based on talking in favor and against this slogan.

Tribal and infiltration issue in Jharkhand

In Jharkhand, there was talk of tribal identity and in the election campaign there was talk of rights of tribals on water, forests and land. The election campaign that started with this reached the issue of infiltrators in the last phase. BJP accused Congress and JMM of encouraging Bangladeshi infiltrators and said that due to this the demography of Jharkhand is changing and the rights of tribals are being violated. JMM and Congress also hit back. Here everything from Constitution to reservation was discussed. JMM tried to make the rights of tribals an issue. The slogan if one is safe was echoed here also.
