Why Haryana’s victory is a booster for BJP in Maharashtra-Jharkhand, understand these 4 reasons

New Delhi: BJP and National Conference (NC) have got big victories in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. BJP has secured majority to form the government in Haryana for the historic third time. Whereas in Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference and Congress alliance has won. However, these election results surprised many, especially in Haryana, where most exit polls had predicted a clear majority for the Congress. This victory of BJP is being attributed to the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his/her promise of ‘double engine government’. Not only this, BJP has intensified further preparations after the victory in Haryana. The party’s entire focus is on Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. Know the meaning of this victory of BJP.

Why is BJP’s victory special?

BJP’s victory in Haryana is special in many ways. Questions were being raised on the party leadership regarding the way BJP fell away from majority in the Lok Sabha elections. However, now with the victory in Haryana for the third consecutive time, the opposing camp has been left stunned. The victory has come as a big relief for the party, which was battling a strong anti-incumbency wave amid protests by farmers and wrestlers in the state. Encouraged by the victory in Haryana, BJP will energize its workers in Delhi, Jharkhand and Maharashtra also. The direct benefit of which will be visible in the upcoming elections.

This is how the whole game changed in Haryana

The party had decided to replace former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar with Naib Singh Saini a few months before the assembly elections, and it seems that the decision has paid off. Not only this, BJP once again expressed confidence in Prime Minister Modi for the election campaign. In pre-poll rallies, PM Modi lashed out at Congress for its alleged divisive and negative politics. In his/her speeches, he/she directly targeted the party for ‘corruption, casteism and nepotism’. During this, BJP also stressed on ‘double engine government’ with BJP at the Center and in the state, claiming that this helps in faster development work.

‘Modi magic’ still exists

Haryana election results have shown that the Modi magic which started in 2014 is still working for BJP. This is the reason why the party, which is facing anti-incumbency wave, is going to form the government for the third consecutive time. Not only this, the BJP leadership is very excited with the victory in Haryana. The party can move forward on the same strategy in the upcoming elections also. There are elections in two more states, Maharashtra and Jharkhand, later this year. There is currently a BJP led coalition government in Maharashtra. However, the party will try to increase its clan in the upcoming elections and strengthen it further.

‘Booster’ will be Haryana’s victory in Maharashtra-Jharkhand!

The elections of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir were considered very important after the Lok Sabha elections. Especially being a Hindi speaking state, the impact of Haryana’s results can also be seen on the elections of Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Delhi. Assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra and Jharkhand in November. Whereas elections can be held in Delhi in January-February next year. The way BJP scored a hat-trick in Haryana, there has been a new enthusiasm in the party cadre. The effort of the party leadership will be to enter the Jharkhand and Maharashtra elections with the enthusiasm of this victory. Not only this, Delhi elections are also ahead, where the party has been waiting for a strong comeback for a long time. It remains to be seen whether Haryana victory will act as a booster dose for BJP in Jharkhand-Maharashtra.

BJP’s dominance will be visible in seat sharing

The performance of the BJP alliance in Maharashtra was not good during the Lok Sabha elections. However, the party is hopeful that the public’s decision will be in its favor in the assembly elections. Such hopes are being made after seeing the results of Haryana. This is also because all the exit polls in Haryana had predicted the victory of Congress. But as the results came out after the counting, all the claims fell flat. The impact of BJP’s historic victory in Haryana will be visible in Maharashtra. The party will now put forward its strong claim among the allies. BJP will definitely get an edge somewhere in seat sharing.

BJP will enter Jharkhand with new enthusiasm

Jharkhand elections can also be held along with Maharashtra. The party is out of power there. Currently, there is a JMM-Congress-RJD coalition government in Jharkhand. Hemant Soren is currently the CM of Jharkhand. In the upcoming elections also, Congress, JMM, RJD and Left parties will stake their claim together. In such a situation, BJP along with its allies would like to leave no stone unturned in cornering him/her. Haryana’s victory will play an important role in this election. The enthusiasm of this victory will be visible in the party cadre. BJP can also claim more seats. It will be interesting to see how much attention Congress will get in seat sharing with its allies after its defeat in Haryana. At present, Haryana’s victory is like a big booster for BJP.
