BJP should decide whose slogan to adopt
In Maharashtra’s Nagpur city, Kharge asked the BJP to decide between Yogi Adityanath’s ‘divisive’ slogan and PM Modi’s unity message. Kharge said that while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given the slogan ‘If we divide, we will cut’, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for ‘If we are united, we will be safe’.
he/she said that first you should decide among yourselves whose slogan you want to adopt – Yogi ji’s or Modi ji’s. BJP gives inflammatory speeches, tells lies and diverts people’s attention from the core issues. Voting will be held for the assembly elections in Maharashtra on November 20.
So people will not raise divisive slogans
Kharge said that you only divide and blame others. You say ‘If we divide, we will cut’. The Congress President said that those who want the country to remain united will never raise such divisive slogans. A day earlier, PM Modi came up with a new slogan in Maharashtra – ‘Ek hain toh safe hain’ while accusing Congress of pitting one caste against another.
Kharge asked BJP to debate with Congress and tell what work its government did in the last 11 years. he/she said (during the debate) we will tell you what work we have done in 55 years.
Got support from Sangh after Yogi
This new slogan of the Prime Minister has come amid the controversy over Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Batenge to Katenge’ slogan. This slogan was first used by the UP CM in a rally in Agra in the backdrop of violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Later, Prime Minister Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat also spoke similarly for Hindu unity.
During his/her annual Vijayadashami speech this year, Bhagwat said being unorganized and weak was like inviting atrocities by the wicked. Yogi Adityanath had also repeated this slogan during an election rally while campaigning for the ruling Mahayuti in Maharashtra.
