New Delhi: Most parts of the country are currently facing the scorching heat, everyone’s eyes are towards the sky. Today there is relief news for people suffering from heat. Monsoon rains are going to happen soon. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, monsoon is going to arrive before time this year. Southwest Monsoon is expected to reach Kerala by May 31. According to IMD forecast, monsoon is likely to reach Andaman Nicobar on May 19. After that the monsoon will move towards other parts of the country. The south-west monsoon is expected to reach Kerala around May 31. India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information on Wednesday. “This year, the southwest monsoon is expected to reach Kerala on May 31,” the IMD said. IMD Director General Mrityunjay Mohapatra said on Wednesday, ‘It is not early. This is close to the normal date as the normal date of onset of monsoon in Kerala is June 1. Last month, the IMD had predicted above normal rainfall during the southwest monsoon season that runs from June to September.
June and July are considered to be the most important monsoon months for agriculture as most of the sowing of Kharif crops takes place during this period.
