When Dhak Dhak Girl’s Anarkali Fell on Aishwarya Rai’s Beauty, It Was Auctioned for Rs 3 Crores

When Sanjay Leela Bhansali brought his film ‘Devdas’ in 2002, along the love story of Dev and Paro, Madhuri Dixit as Chandramukhi also became famous. She played the character of Chandramukhi with so much heart that even today her image comes first when talking about the film. Not only this, this beauty’s style in the film even overshadowed former World Miss Aishwarya Rai.

Actually, Madhuri was seen in different outfits in the film, but no one could match the magic she spread wearing the green Anarkali suit. This one Anarkali of hers had overshadowed Aishwarya’s beauty. Which was later auctioned for Rs 3 crore. 

Wearing Anarkali said- ‘killed’

Although Madhuri was seen dancing in many songs in ‘Devdas’, but her performances in ‘Maar Dala’ had blown away the fans. Her look was so spectacular that even Aishwarya’s beauty paled in comparison to it. She wore green colored heavily embroidered Anarkali. Which was embroidered with golden threads and stars. This outfit was designed by famous designer Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.

Madhuri’s Anarkali choli was kept with full sleeves. While it had heavy embroidery on it, a net was placed near the sweetheart neckline and just stars were placed on it. At the same time, the skirt portion was completely made of net and there was a border decorated with stars at the bottom. And below this, pants with the same design as the bodice were styled. In the end the actress carried a net scarf on her head. The one whose border was heavy, the rest had a design made of golden stars. 

Heavy jewelery made the look even more special

Madhuri made this look even more special with her heavy jewellery. She wore a big necklace, maang tikka and matching earrings. But the glow on his face was shining through his small nose ring. At the same time, hand flowers and lots of bangles were also adding charm to her look. This look of Madhuri is considered iconic even today and hence when it was auctioned, it was sold for Rs 3 crore.

Mirror work lehenga also wreaked havoc

Madhuri’s mirror work lehenga look in the film was also liked a lot. Which was also designed by Abu Jani. It was decorated with real mirrors with zardosi embroidery and hence weighed 10 kg. The designer had told that it took the entire team of artisans 2 months to prepare the outfit.

Eyes fixed on Bindi

There was heavy mirror work on Madhuri’s lehenga-choli, while mirrors were placed at some distance along the border on the net dupatta. Madhuri completed this look with silver jewellery. Which included bangles, rings, earrings and neckpiece. At the same time, the bindi on Haseena’s forehead was successful in attracting everyone’s attention.
