US President-elect Trump has nominated an Indian-American lawyer as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in the US Justice Department.




US President Donald Trump on Tuesday nominated Indian-origin Harmeet K Dhillon as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in the US Justice Department.

Dhillon thanked Trump in a statement and said she would help America’s civil rights agenda.

“I am pleased to nominate Harmeet K. Dhillon to be Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the United States Department of Justice,” Trump said in a statement.
