Today’s weather and AQI 13 December 2024: Severe cold has knocked in Delhi. With this, pollution has once again started increasing in Delhi. The level of pollution has increased and worsened. In the next few days, it may increase to a very bad level. The minimum temperature in the capital has remained below 5 degrees for the last two days. On the other hand, mercury is also falling rapidly in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. It is snowing in the hilly areas.

The maximum temperature can be 23 degrees and the minimum temperature can be 4 degrees. There will be cold wave on 14th December also. Now the cold wave is likely to continue for the next three days i.e. on the weekend also.

Western Disturbance over the mountains

A Western Disturbance is active over the mountains of North India. It will end on Friday. After this, there is no possibility of any weather activity in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, cold winds will continuously come from snow covered mountains to the plains. Due to this, the minimum temperature of Delhi NCR may fall further in the next three days.

First snowfall of the season in the plains of Kashmir

The plains of Kashmir valley received the first snowfall of the season, while the upper reaches received moderate rain. Officials said on Thursday that the minimum temperature has improved at most places in the valley. Light snowfall occurred in the plains of Shopian, Pulwama and Baramulla as well as the upper reaches of Anantnag, Budgam and Bandipora. However, there was no snowfall in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Light to moderate snowfall occurred in the upper reaches of the valley including tourist places like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Tangmarg, Gurez and Zojila Pass. The Srinagar-Leh highway was closed for traffic due to snow accumulation at Zojila Pass, while the Bandipora-Gurez road and Mughal Road were also closed. The work of removing snow from the roads and restoring traffic is going on. Help of machines is being taken. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted improvement in the weather. Mainly dry conditions are expected to persist till December 20.

Cold wave hits Delhi-NCR

Cold wave has arrived in Delhi-NCR. Meteorologists say that the temperature has dropped due to the cold winds coming from the snow-covered hills and clear sky. This decline had started from Wednesday itself. The minimum temperature had reached 4.9 degrees Celsius on Wednesday morning. The temperature reached 4 degrees on Thursday morning. According to the Meteorological Department, today the minimum mercury is expected to be around 4 degrees. After this the minimum will gradually increase by one degree each. The Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog as well as severe cold in NCR from December 17. Along with the continuously increasing cold, the weather of the entire NCR including Delhi has also remained clear, due to which a sharp decline in mercury is being recorded.
