She told that during the shooting of two films with Rajesh Khanna, Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan were pregnant with her at different times. Rajkumar was going to work in ‘Amar Prem’

Sharmila Tagore told that Rajkumar was initially supposed to play Rajesh Khanna’s character in the film ‘Amar Prem’. ‘I have never worked with Raj Kumar. Except the time, in which I did not have any scene with him/her. Kaka, who performed Aaradhana with me and Shakti Samant, insisted on being a part of Amar Prem, due to which he/she replaced Rajkumar.

‘Amar Prem’ got success from RD Burman and Anand Bakshi

Sharmila Tagore attributed the success of her film ‘Amar Prem’ to RD Burman’s music and Anand Bakshi’s lyrics. Said that his/her music and words took the story forward. The actress further said that Field Marshal Manekshaw was present at the premiere of the film. However, the very next day the India-Pakistan war of 1971 broke out.
