The underworld was after Sunil Shetty in the human trafficking operation, his/her mother-in-law showed courage

Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty gave an interview in which he/she told that he/she used to work to save girls from human trafficking. The actor had saved about 400 girls through this campaign. he/she gave all the credit to his/her mother-in-law that how she has taught the actor many things under this campaign. Along with this, the actor also revealed that during this time the underworld was after him/her and gave information about how he/she dealt with it. When Sunil Shetty was asked about human trafficking in an interview given to ‘Zoom’, how he/she did all this, he/she said, ‘Now Sunil Shetty is an actor, so everyone remembers his/her name. But for me, the hero behind this whole incident was my mother-in-law Vitla Kadri. Earlier we used to run an NGO named Trafficking in India. But then we changed it because we were having trouble with the name. And other people were using its name. Now its name is Vitla Foundation. My mother-in-law, in collaboration with many NGOs, has taken the bold step of getting out more than 400 young girls from all over the world.’

When asked how this operation went, Suniel Shetty said, ‘I have never talked about it and I don’t want to talk about it. Because it can cause harm. And there can be problems in the future as well. Because these are things that are done by a higher level confidential team, apart from the then Chief Minister and the then Police Commissioners. So I have never talked about it. I am talking about it now because I am not the hero of it so I need to talk about it. I am a messenger. A lot of people have helped me manage it. But the credit for finding out this and everything and showing the courage to do it goes to my mother-in-law.’

Sunil Shetty said, ‘I have always worked with my mother-in-law. She has been saving children and we have been giving them a place to live. Even today, I and Mana keep doing that work with my siblings. I talk about it only when I feel like it. Not to promote a movie. We get satisfaction from this work. It was my mother-in-law who taught me that the art of giving is the art of living. She was more precious to me than the world. I will give her the same place as my mother. It is because of her that I got this opportunity. The underworld was also after us. But we achieved success because of good friends and the police. Jet Airways also helped us.’
