Whether to make Babar Azam the captain of the team again or to add Gary Kirsten, the head coach who made India win the 2011 World Cup. Now another big decision has been taken by the board. PCB has included an important person in the coaching team who helped Indian Premier League franchise team Chennai Super Kings win the title twice.

Pakistan has appointed New Zealand’s David Reid, who has been working in the Indian Premier League with Chennai Super Kings since 2021, as the mental and skill conditioning coach of the national team. Pakistan Cricket Board announced that Reid, who has worked with Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, will join the Pakistan team for the T20 series against England and the T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and America in June. Apart from this, Simon Helmut will be the new fielding coach of the team.

PCB said, “The appointment of Helmut and Reid has been made on the advice of head coach Gary Kirsten, who will join the team in England on May 19.” Kirsten has been made Pakistan’s limited overs coach for two years. He has been the coach of the 2011 World Cup winning Indian team. Aftab Ahmed, who went to Ireland and England as fielding coach with the Pakistan team, has been made the high performance coach.

Chennai made champion twice

New Zealand’s David Reid has been working with Chennai Super Kings since 2021. Since then this team has won the IPL title twice. In the year 2021, the team won the trophy by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders. In the year 2023, won the match against Gujarat Titans and captured it for the 5th time.
