The magic of ‘Srikanth’ worked more than ’12th Fail’! Earned 51% more in 5 days, but Langur Sena is still ahead

Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Srikanth’ may not be making bumper earnings at the box office, but it has definitely given the audience a chance to smile in the deserted theatres. This biopic of Shrikant Bola, made under the direction of Tushar Hiranandani, is being compared to ’12th Fail’ from the beginning. More or less, both the films are of the same genre. Vikrant Massey’s ’12th Fail’, released last year, surprised everyone with its earnings, albeit slowly. The interesting thing is that ‘Srikanth’ has defeated ’12th Fail’ in terms of earnings in five days. Rajkummar Rao’s film has earned 51% more than Vikrant Massey’s film in the first five days. However, it is lagging a little behind ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’, released on Friday itself, but this difference is not much. According to the report of sacnilk, ‘Srikanth’ has collected Rs 14.95 crore in the country in five days. Total net collection has been done. The film has earned Rs 1.60 crore on the 5th day of Mangalore. The good thing is that a day earlier on Monday also it had done a business of only Rs 1.65 crore. That means, despite the working days, the position of the film is strong and the earnings are not decreasing much.

While during the day, the audience is seen in 11 out of 100 seats in the theaters, in the evening and night shows, this number increases to 16. This film is earning money at a time when the condition of theaters and films is bad for almost two months. Films like ‘Maidan’ and ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ released on Eid have also proved to be disasters. But ‘Srikanth’, made with a budget of Rs 40 crore, is proving successful in attracting the audience due to word of mouth.

’12th Fail’ earned Rs 9.89 crore in five days

It is worth noting that Vikrant Massey’s last year’s release ’12th Fail’ had done a total business of Rs 9.89 crore in five days.
