It is because of them that we have reached here today. His only wish was that we get everything good and become better people. He gave us everything except his desires. I saw the same struggle in my show also. Often we get worried and ask why this happened, but after some time we understand that whatever happened, happened for the good.

‘I am here because of Saurabh Tiwari of Lucknow’

I belong to a business family. Ours is an infrastructure business. I was into this earlier. The producer is Saurabh Tiwari from Lucknow. I am sitting here today only because of him. He was the first person to give me a break. I told Saurabh ji that I don’t know whether I will be able to act or not, you will have to help me. He told me the story and said that you have to do this part. The name of that show was Zindagi Ki Mehek. He wanted me to do it because he could not find the kind of actor he wanted to make. I told him you have to help me. He helped and showed complete trust in me.

Got time to go home during web series

Last year I became a father. Children and wife are in Delhi. Not in DailySoap but got to spend a lot of time with children during the web series. My show ‘Imli’ ended last September. Signed the web series in October and continued doing it till January. There is a gap in between in the series. I used to immediately take a flight from Mumbai to Delhi because before that I would not get time to go to Delhi for daily soaps.

Money is important but it is not everything

I have done five projects so far. A web series will come in June, which is ‘Naam Naam Nishan’. I am lucky to be getting good work. This is the biggest thing for every actor. I am someone who likes to do good work. I don’t give that much importance to money. Money is important but it is not everything. I think work should be fun. Every morning when I wake up, I feel that I have to do this scene, that. Everything in life should be challenging. There should be anxiety before every scene, so that I can prepare hard to do the best. I believe in ‘do less, but do more’. However, it depends on the individual. My situation may not be that of everyone. For someone, working everyday is more important. Nowadays very motivated people have come. They say, ‘Follow your passion’. This is fine for me but it would not be fine to say this to a waiter working in a hotel. Anyway, even to drive a Passion car, there must be petrol. Everyone’s point of view may be different.

Every character has a demand. We have to live up to what the writer has thought, the way it has been created on paper and what the director is thinking. If that work is completed and people remember that the character had attitude and ego, then our work is truly completed. The girls liked the show in which I was a bit serious. I became a DJ in ‘Imli’, which was funky. He was completely different from my earlier characters. The character I am playing in this show (Main Hoon Saath Tere), comes from a big family of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. In his childhood, due to circumstances, he is sent out of the house to study, due to which he misses his father’s love a lot. He sees the lack of his father’s love in a child who has no father. For this reason, he wants to make him his son and fulfill the lack of father’s love.
