Started preparation in school, neither left the game nor social media, Shivam Mishra became CA topper with amazing strategy

Shivam Mishra CA Success Strategy: When the ICAI President himself informed Shivam Mishra of Delhi that he/she had become the CA All India topper, it was beyond belief for him/her. Shivam says, I checked the phone number after the call. Then when more calls started coming, I was convinced. I had thought of being in the top 10, but rank 1 was a big surprise.

In his/her five-year journey of hard work to become a CA, Shivam got the enthusiasm to move forward at every step. Shivam, who passed 12th class with 94.6%, got rank 50 in CA Foundation and 20 in CA Intermediate. he/she says, when I took commerce stream in school, I also started preparing for CA. This course is considered the best in commerce stream and I always wanted to do the best.

Why is it tough to pass the CA exam? What should be the strategy?

Shivam qualified every level of CA- Foundation, Intermediate and Final in the first attempt. he/she says, the result in CA ranges from 8-10% to 20-22%. The number of students who qualify CA in the first attempt is also only 1%. The reason is the vastness of its syllabus. To cover it, the right plan, right strategy and daily study is required. I also took coaching. Also, I focused on the ICAI material, because the paper is also made from it.

Shivam’s first advice to his/her juniors is to study regularly and diligently. Shivam says, if you consider the CA syllabus a burden, then studies will also seem like a burden. CA studies have always been fun for me. Studying for 10-12 hours, studying along with articleship… these were challenges, but studies never felt like a burden. Also, definitely pursue your hobbies. Like I play online games, I definitely played for half an hour even during exams. I also kept chatting with friends. There is no need to give up anything. Like I kept watching social media, but to the extent that it did not hamper my studies.

My goal is to go to UPSC Civil Service

Shivam’s father is an astrologer and his/her mother is a homemaker. Shivam, who is finishing his/her articleship in October, has a job for a couple of years and then MBA or UPSC Civil Services. he/she says, the job will give you experience, MBA will give you knowledge of finance business and a good network. I have thought about UPSC because it is a field where there is variety.
