So, did the Bagmati Express train collide with a goods train in Tamil Nadu because of relay chattering?

New Delhi: A major accident occurred in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu on Friday night. When instead of going on the main line of the Mysore-Darbhanga Bagmati Express, the passenger train went into the loop line and collided with the goods train standing there. In this matter, Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS) AM Chaudhary has started investigation with his/her team. In this accident, which is being called Balasore-2, it is being revealed that the interlocking relay chattering and the failure of the connecting road changing the track is coming to light. Due to which the signal and line mismatched.

Investigation into Bagmati Express accident intensified

The speed of Bagmati Express at the time of the accident is said to be around 75 kilometers per hour. Sanjay Pandhi, working president of Indian Railway Loco Runningmen Organization (IRLRO), suspected failure of relay chattering and connecting road in the accident. Explaining the meaning of relay chattering, Pandhi said that sometimes even after switching off a light, it feels like it is burning. The same technical glitch seems to have happened here also. In which Bagmati Express was given green signal on the main line only, but it went on the loop line.

How did the accident happen in Tamil Nadu

But in such a situation the signal should have turned red automatically, which did not happen. This is a matter of investigation. Failure of the connecting road may also be the reason behind this. Due to which the signal on the main line became green, but actually the line did not switch from loop to main line. However, its final disclosure can be made only after CRS investigation. Sources also say that the line on which the accident occurred. Some time ago there was a caution for speed of 10 kilometers per hour. Later it had to be extended after the crossing of two trains.

What is the update on the investigation so far?

Before the Bagmati Express, the first train that passed through there had passed normally. Railway sources have also expressed the possibility of derailment of the engine of Bagmati Express at the line changing point itself. Due to which he/she collided with the goods train standing ahead. Because, some coaches have also been found on the main line. Railways says that information will also be taken from people in the CRS investigation on 16th and 17th October. At the accident site, the lines on both sides were repaired and opened on Sunday morning.

Was any conspiracy hatched?

No conspiracy is being ruled out in the case. In the initial investigation, it is also being said that some nuts and bolts were found loose and missing at the line changing point. Which seems to indicate whether a deliberate conspiracy was hatched to overturn the train? NIA is also investigating the case, but NIA says that their team is engaged in routine investigation. he/she has not yet registered any case for this. Only GRP and RPF are investigating this.
