Rahul Gandhi adamant on caste census
A media house’s survey result came out regarding caste census. It is claimed that in the month of February, 59% people were in favour of caste census and in August, 74% people came in support. At the same time, during this period, the percentage of opponents decreased from 28 to 24. Referring to this survey report, Rahul Gandhi gave an ultimatum to PM Modi that he/she should implement ‘this order of Hindustan’ or else the next Prime Minister will do this work.
Modiji, if you are thinking of stopping the caste census, you are dreaming – no power can stop it now! The order of Hindustan has come. Soon 90% of Indians will support and demand caste census. Implement the order now or you will see the next Prime Minister doing it.
Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader
Weapon of caste or concern for backwards?
Smriti Irani says that even though Rahul Gandhi has taken up the issue of caste very strongly, he/she does not have any devotion towards it. Meaning, he/she is not demanding caste census with the objective of ensuring social justice for the marginalized people but is just making a move to make inroads into the organized voter group of BJP. Assembly elections are about to be held in Jammu and Kashmir. To ensure Congress’ alliance with the regional party National Conference (NC), Rahul Gandhi himself finalized the deal by talking to the Abdullah family in Srinagar. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, the father-son party of National Conference, have promised the people of Jammu and Kashmir that if their government is formed, the situation before 1953 will be restored in the state.
Why does Rahul Gandhi not want reservation in Jammu and Kashmir?
What was the situation of Jammu and Kashmir before 1953? At that time, Jammu and Kashmir had a Prime Minister, not a Chief Minister. There was a separate flag and a separate constitution until Article 370 was repealed on August 5, 2019. Till then, there was no provision of reservation for Dalits and backward classes in Jammu and Kashmir. How can Rahul Gandhi, who is raising the issue of reservation and caste across the country, support the return of reservation in Jammu and Kashmir? Did Rahul tell the alliance partner National Conference that there can be no talk of ending reservation? The answer is no.
Why doesn’t Rahul ask for caste census report from Karnataka government?
Another truth behind Rahul Gandhi’s chant of social justice is that the Congress government of Karnataka has not yet made public the report of the caste census conducted in the state. There is no report that Rahul Gandhi has talked to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about making the report public. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi, who objects to the lack of proper representation of Dalits, backward classes and tribals among senior bureaucrats, who wants caste-based reservation in Miss India, how much care he/she has taken of reservation in the Congress party, its various units, Congress and institutions associated with his/her family, has been exposed in Parliament. When Rahul raised the issue of caste census loudly in the first Parliament session of the 18th Lok Sabha, in response, BJP MPs and Union Ministers told him/her the reality of the Congress and the Gandhi family.
Why does Rahul ignore Dalits in Congress and Gandhi family’s organizations?
Union Minister Anurag Thakur asked how many Dalits, backward and tribals are there in Rajiv Gandhi Foundation? The Congress National President may be a Dalit Mallikarjun Kharge, but the world knows who holds the real power. Just as Manmohan Singh was a stamp of the Gandhi family as Prime Minister, the same is the case with Mallikarjun Kharge. Only letters are issued in his/her name, decisions are taken by Rahul Gandhi and his/her coterie. Can anyone deny this? If not, then Rahul himself is saying that a Dalit does not have the talent to take charge of the Congress.
Kindness to strangers, cruelty to own people… BJP is sinking in the quagmire of Stockholm syndrome
Why doesn’t Rahul’s blood boil over Muslim atrocities on Dalits?
If a person from any other caste of Hindus tortures Dalits in any corner of the country, be it Rahul or any other leader doing Dalit-backward politics, everyone turns red with anger. But as soon as the culprit is a Muslim, everyone’s mouth is shut. Did Rahul Gandhi ever say a word against Muslim atrocities on Dalits? Never. Just recently, there was news of atrocities on a Dalit minor girl by a Muslim officer of SP in Ayodhya. Two Muslims together raped a 12-year-old Dalit girl several times. The girl became pregnant.
The accused SP official is an old man, of the same age as the girl’s grandfather. But far from standing up for the girl, Rahul’s ally Akhilesh openly came out in defence of the accused. If Rahul had any sympathy and empathy towards Dalits, he/she would have been hurt by Akhilesh’s behaviour, but did anything like that happen? Did Rahul Gandhi condemn Akhilesh’s statements? Okay, since they are alliance partners, it is understandable that they did not condemn publicly, but did they try to convince Akhilesh through talks? The answer is – no.
Why is the Congress government reducing OBC reservation for Muslim votes?
When we talk about Muslims, how can we forget that the state governments of Rahul Gandhi’s Congress party are trying to cut the reservation of Dalits and backward classes and give it to Muslims. The Karnataka government decided to give reservation to Muslims by cutting four percent from the OBC quota. Did Rahul Gandhi object to this? Did he/she tell the Siddaramaiah government that the reservation of historically backward castes cannot be cut? If not, then what kind of concept of social justice is this of Rahul Gandhi?
Is caste census just a weapon of divide and rule?
In fact, if we go to the root of the practice of caste census, its purpose becomes clear. The first caste census in the country was done during the slavery period. At that time, our rulers were the British. The British had to use various tricks to weaken the opposing forces so that the roots of their empire could not be shaken. Under this strategy, the British conducted caste census to disintegrate the collective power of Hindus. The British left but the roots of their policy of divide and rule remained. This policy gave birth to many casteist parties.
Congress and all the regional parties, with one or two exceptions, set the equation of Muslim plus Dalit-OBC, tribal and made their politics shine. This politics gave Muslims veto power in elections. Divide the votes of Hindus on the basis of castes and keep enjoying the cream of power by getting the collective votes of Muslims. Till 2014, this was a very reliable formula, but Modi-Shah’s BJP inspired Hindus to think about national interest by rising above caste. As a result, the veto power of Muslims ended and now there is panic among the parties that were taking advantage of this veto power.
If temple politics did not work then Rahul Gandhi is busy dividing Hindus?
Sensing unity among Hindus, Rahul Gandhi also started visiting temples. he/she described himself as a Brahmin who wears the sacred thread. But Hindus did not melt. As Hindus understood, Rahul had no attachment towards Sanatan Dharma or Hindus, so he/she refrained from betting on it for a long time. Smriti Irani says that when Rahul went from temple to temple, Hindus understood that this was nothing but deception, so he/she did not get any benefit in the elections. Then Rahul changed his/her track.
Rahul is now doing a different kind of politics. Rahul has now lit the torch of a different kind of deception. If he/she was concerned about Dalits, oppressed and tribals, he/she would not have tolerated any reduction in their reservation, nor would he/she have tolerated any atrocities on them. But Rahul neither opposes the policy of reducing reservation from OBC quota and giving it to Muslims, nor does he/she say a word about the atrocities of Muslims on Dalits. So, does Rahul Gandhi want to reach the seat of power by dividing only Hindu votes with the weapon of caste census, he/she is not particularly concerned about the upliftment of the marginalized people?
