See the new monarchy of democracy… Not only in the South, this is how familyism dominates the country’s politics.

New Delhi: Nepotism cannot be denied in Indian politics. It is not that nepotism is prevalent in any particular part of the country. Familyism dominates Indian politics from North to South. Yesterday, when Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of CM MK Stalin, was taking oath as Deputy CM in Tamil Nadu, the discussion on nepotism once again intensified. Udhayanidhi Stalin was already a minister and it is not the first time that DMK has been accused of nepotism. There is no such practice in any one place
Now father is CM and son is Deputy CM in the same state. Although it is not a matter of any one party, but if we look at the regional parties, it will appear that familyism is quite dominant here. There are many such states including Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, UP, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Maharashtra where dynastic parties dominate. Here we will see a political system where political power is transferred from one family to another from generation to generation.

the count of states will fall short
DMK in Tamil Nadu, JDS in Karnataka, BRS in Telangana, TDP in Andhra, SP and Lok Dal in UP, RJD in Bihar, JMM in Jharkhand, TMC in West Bengal, Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar’s party in Maharashtra, PDP and National in Jammu. Along with the conference, Chautala family in Haryana, Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab, BJD in Odisha, familyism in Congress, some faces will also be seen in the Modi cabinet.

BJP taunted like this
Udhayanidhi is Stalin’s son and the third generation leader of the family. Karunanidhi, a great leader of the South, had made Stalin his/her successor. Now Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi is seen carrying forward that tradition. BJP is completely calling it dynasty politics. BJP said that it is democracy or dynasty. BJP tauntedly said that these parties are for the family and by the family. They are a private limited company.

Forgot about Lohia long ago
Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia had said that those who have leadership potential should come forward and there is no place for dynasty politics in politics. Even after so many years of the country’s independence, the roots of familyism have become stronger and deeper. It is not a matter of any one party, BJP which has raised questions on Congress is also not untouched by this. The parties doing politics in the name of different castes and backward people also hand over the legacy to the family.

PM Modi has been targeting familyism
PM Modi seems quite aggressive on familyism. From their side, Congress is specifically targeted in this regard. However, opposition parties also count the names of many leaders in BJP. But many political experts say that perhaps this is not possible in BJP like it is in other parties. Even if Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi loses, they cannot be removed from the party or post, but perhaps this is not possible in BJP.
