Green signal may be given for the release of ‘Emergency’, makers told the court – we are ready to make cuts

The path seems to be clear for the release of Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’. It is reported that the producers of the film have agreed to make the cuts suggested by the Censor Board. In the Bombay High Court on Monday, the lawyer of the film’s co-producer ‘Zee Studios’ said that the producers have decided to implement the changes suggested by the amendment committee of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). By the way, this is also interesting, because just two days ago Kangana had clearly said that she will not make any cuts in ‘Emergency’. Apart from being the lead actress of the film, Kangana is also the director and co-producer. The Censor Board had told the court in the last hearing that they have approved Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ with a U/A certificate, but in the film About 13 cuts have been made. The board’s lawyer had said that unless these cuts were made, he/she could not give the green signal for release of the film. Now during the hearing on Monday, the counsel for ‘Zee Studios’ told the High Court that the filmmakers have agreed to the amendments proposed by the committee.

Hearing will now be held in the High Court on October 3

The court was also told that the producers have submitted a draft to implement the changes suggested by the censors and the Board’s response on the same is now awaited. The High Court has fixed Thursday, October 3 for the next hearing on the case.
