Runs scored against Mumbai at a strike rate of 212, KKR batsman fined


Kolkata. The Kolkata Knight Riders team, playing in the Indian Premier League 2024 under the plan of new mentor Gautam Gambhir, has secured a place in the playoffs by showing a stellar performance. KKR has become the first team to make it to the playoffs this season. In the match played on Saturday, the team won by 18 runs against Mumbai Indians. While the team got a chance to celebrate after the match, the BCCI fined one player.

BCCI took action and fined Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Ramandeep Singh. He has been fined 20 percent of his match fee for violating the IPL code of conduct during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match played against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. During the match, Ramandeep, who came to bat last, scored 17 runs on 8 balls with a strike rate of 212, hitting 1 four and 1 six.

The 27-year-old player committed a level one offense under Article 2.20 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He has accepted his crime and the punishment of the match referee. The match referee’s decision on a Level 1 breach of the Code of Conduct is final and binding. KKR made it to the playoffs by defeating Mumbai Indians by 18 runs in this rain-affected match. Ramandeep scored 17 runs on eight balls in this match.

At present, Kolkata team is at the top position in the points table with 18 points. After this, there is Rajasthan Royals team which has scored 16 points. Sunrisers Hyderabad team is in third place. This team has 14 points. After this the teams of Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants are seen. All three teams have 12-12 points. Royal Challengers Bangalore is at number 7 with 10 points. With the same number of points, Gujarat Titans are at eighth position. The teams of Mumbai and Punjab are out of the race for the playoffs.
