RCB may be out without playing eliminator, Virat Kohli’s dream may not be broken

New Delhi. Royal Challengers Bangalore team has created history and made it to the playoffs this time. After losing six consecutive matches, RCB has become the first team to progress in the IPL by registering a win in this very match. Virat Kohli’s dream of winning the trophy for the first time may be fulfilled but the rules of IPL seem to be coming in the way. Rajasthan team is going to get the benefit of this rule if the situation arises to use it.

The way the team has made a comeback after losing 6 consecutive matches has not happened till now in the history of the tournament. This team secured the playoff ticket by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the last league match. On the basis of better net run rate, RCB was successful in moving ahead, leaving Chennai behind.

Will RCB be eliminated without playing?
So far this season, many league matches have been canceled due to rain. Gujarat Titans team suffered the most loss due to this. Rain completely destroyed his/her half-baked hope of playoff. The match between Rajasthan and Bangalore is to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. If it rains in this match, then RCB team can be out without playing the eliminator.

What are the rules of IPL?
Actually, the IPL Governing Council has not kept a reserve day for the qualifiers and eliminator matches. In such a situation, if rain spoils the match then RCB will suffer loss. If rain disrupts the match, the match official will definitely try to conduct a match of at least 5 overs. If this is not possible then the decision can be taken through super over. If even 1 ball cannot be bowled in the match, then the team which is in better position in the points table will move ahead.
