Rain became a boon for Hyderabad, Sunrisers got playoff ticket

New Delhi. The third team of IPL 2023 playoff has been confirmed. The match played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans was washed out due to rain. Hyderabad team benefited from this canceled match which qualified for the playoffs without playing. Gujarat Titans are already out of the race for the playoffs. One point each was distributed between both the teams. Hyderabad has entered the playoffs with 15 points in 13 matches. It has reached third place in the points table. The team led by Pat Cummins still has to play one more match in the group stage. If Hyderabad team is successful in winning that match then it will get 17 points. Hyderabad will play its last league match at home against Punjab Kings on Sunday.

The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans (SRH vs GT) was to be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. But due to continuous rain since evening, the toss could not be held in this match. Now the match of Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore has been knocked out. The team that wins this match will become the fourth and last team to qualify for the playoffs. However, net run rate will also be seen in this match. Chennai Super Kings got a big blow due to the cancellation of the match between Hyderabad vs Gujarat Titans. CSK slipped from third to fourth place in the points table.

KKR and RR have already reached the playoffs
Kolkata Knight Riders became the first team to reach the playoffs. KKR is first in the points table with 19 points in 13 matches, while Rajasthan Royals became the second team to reach the playoffs with 16 points in 13 matches. KKR and RR still have to play one more match in the league stage.

Gujarat finished its campaign with 12 points in 14 matches.

This was the 14th and last match of Gujarat Titans. Gujarat won 5 out of 14 matches while lost 7 and two matches were lost due to rain.
