Police arrested 2 South African cricketers before the match against Sri Lanka, accused of match fixing

Tsotsobe and Solekile were arrested last month in connection with a match-fixing scandal related to a domestic tournament in South Africa in 2015, police said. he/she has been charged with five counts under South Africa’s corruption laws after appearing before a special criminal court in Pretoria on Friday. This law also has a provision for a prison sentence of up to 18 years in certain circumstances.

Solekile played three test matches for South Africa 20 years ago. This 44-year-old former player was banned from all forms of cricket for 12 years in 2016. Former fast bowler Tsotsobe played Test, ODI and T20 international matches for South Africa from 2009 to 2014. This 40-year-old former player was banned for eight years in 2017.

Along with the duo, Ethi Mbhalati, a domestic cricketer, was arrested last month and is facing corruption charges along with Tsotsobe and Solekile.
