Sachchidanand/Patna. These days IPL is all the rage in the country. There is a buzz about cricket everywhere. Cricket has also started in the capital Patna from 10th May. This is not IPL but IVL. IVL means Indian Voter League. This tournament has been organized by the Municipal Corporation to make the voters of Patna aware about voting. Its objective is to motivate the common people to vote through cricket matches. The tournament was inaugurated by Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer HR Srinivasan, District Magistrate and Municipal Commissioner. On this occasion, Municipal Commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar encouraged the common people to vote on June 1 and said that they should not only celebrate the holiday on the election day but also fulfill their responsibilities.

The match will be organized under IVL from 10th to 25th May. From Digha JP Setu Ghat to Gate No. 88 Ghat, seating arrangements have been made in different zones for the general public, players and spectators. Also, the food court on Marine Drive has been moved closer to the ground for the spectators. A total of 75 teams have been formed by the Municipal Corporation in this tournament. Voters who will vote for the first time have also been invited to play the match. Cricket matches will start every evening. The match will be played for 06-06 overs. The number of players in each team is 15. Different teams will include representatives of 75 wards of the Municipal Corporation, various departments, people associated with social services, NGOs, officers, journalists, students etc.

Special arrangements for women
Many arrangements including food court, laser show have been made for the spectators coming to watch the match. People were also motivated to vote on June 1 through a laser show at the inauguration ceremony.
On the first day, people were made aware about voting through a cultural program by Municipal Corporation’s brand ambassador Neetu Navgeet and commentary by RJ Shashi. Let us tell you that for the first time, the facility of pink toilet is being provided by Patna Municipal Corporation during the match. It will be operated by women of self-help groups and will be cleaned regularly by Swachhangini. It will be installed on the banks of Ganga and will be free for women only.
