In ODIs, KL Rahul will lead the Indian team in the absence of Rohit Sharma as the BCCI believes that he/she is known for scoring runs in the longer format.”

Rahul’s captaincy record in ODIs
KL Rahul has captained India on many occasions in ODI matches. So far KL Rahul has captained India in 12 ODI matches. During this time he/she has won 8 matches.
