New OTT Release: From ‘Rita Sanyal’ to ‘Fabulous Wives’, watch 10 series-films this week


Dussehra has passed. Preparations for Diwali have started. Amidst all this, if you get tired of house cleaning and shopping, then there are 10 new films and series for you in the OTT box. On one hand, Ada Sharma is coming in the role of flamboyant lawyer ‘Rita Sanyal’, on the other hand there is a tussle with the fabulous wives of Bollywood wives. ‘The Prophets of Pittsburgh’ has a sweet story of an Indian family, but also a scary monster that comes at 3:33 am every morning. Let us know which new films and series are being released on OTT from October 14 to October 20, 2024-

Rita Sanyal (October 14, Disney+Hotstar)

‘The Kerala Story’ fame Adah Sharma is bringing a new series Reeta Sanyal this week. This is a crime-thriller series, in which Ada is in the lead role. This series is based on Amit Khan’s popular crime novel. The story is of fearless and powerful lawyer Rita Sanyal. She is making her way in the quagmire of the legal world. From a journalist to a mysterious Iranian woman, Rita tackles unique cases that challenge her sharp wit as well as legal ethics. Rita’s biggest enemy in the story is the corrupt lawyer Emraj Thakral (Rahul Dev). Ankur Rathi and Manik Papaneja also star in this series. This series will stream on OTT platform Disney + Hotstar from October 14.

The Peninsulas of Pittsburgh (October 17, Prime Video)

The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh is the story of an Indian family living in America. There is comedy as well as emotion in this heart-touching story. The series is inspired by the personal experiences of Emmy-nominated producer Vijal Patel. The series, as per its name, follows the Pradeep family – Mahesh (Naveen Andrews) and Sudha (Sindhu Vee) along with their three children, who move into their new home in Pittsburgh. The story starts in an interrogation room and moves in flashback. The twist in the story comes when Pradeep gets entangled with his/her strange neighbours. This series presents the cultural differences and the problems caused by this in a light-hearted manner. This series will be released on OTT platform Prime Video on October 17.

Fabulous Lives vs. Bollywood Wives Season 3 (October 18, Netflix)

This time in Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives season 3, there is a double dose of glamor and a lot of drama. This season is about the lives of celebrity wives of Delhi and Mumbai. There is a kind of competition between the two and this is the focus. This time, along with Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Kothari, Seema Sajdeh and Bhavana Pandey, new faces Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Shalini Pasi and Kalyani Saha Chawla are going to be seen. Apart from this, Saif Ali Khan, Gauri Khan and Karan Johar will also be seen doing cameos. The story revolves around the personal lives of these women, their tensions and grand lives. This series will stream on OTT platform Netflix from October 18.

Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare (October 16, Netflix)

Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare is a six-part documentary series that chronicles the terrifying experience of London-based radio host Kirat Assi. She became embroiled in a catfishing scheme that lasted nearly a decade. This story began in early 2009, with an online relationship with a man named Bobby. But this relationship soon turns into a web of manipulation and deception. As Kirat’s relationship deepened, Bobby made excuses, sometimes health or other reasons, to avoid a face-to-face meeting. It depicts the long legal battle and emotional trauma caused by this relationship. This documentary series will be released on Netflix on October 16.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 (October 17, Netflix)

Mickey Haller faces his/her most challenging case yet in The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, based on Michael Connelly’s 5th book The Gods of Guilt. In this season Haller defends Julianne La Causey, a woman. Julian is accused of the murder of his/her former client, Gloria Dayton. As Haller gets to the bottom of the case, shocking revelations emerge. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo returns as Haller in this 10-episode season. There will also be familiar faces like Becky Newton, Jazz Recole and Neve Campbell. New cast members include Marin Dungey and Phillip Anthony-Rodriguez. This series will stream on Netflix from October 17.

Paris Has Fallen (18 October, Liongates Play)

Paris Has Fallen is an action-thriller series. In this, the capital of France, Paris, has become a battlefield. The series revolves around security officer Vincent Taleb (Tawfik Jallab), who finds himself embroiled in a conspiracy after a major attack is carried out targeting the French Defense Minister. Teaming up with MI6 operative Zara Taylor (Ritu Arya), Taleb infiltrates the city’s underworld and tries to stop the plot. The mastermind of this conspiracy is Jacob Pierce (Sean Harris). The series is a spin-off from the Has Fallen movie franchise. You can watch it on Lionsgate Play from October 18.

Rivals (October 18, Disney+Hotstar)

Rivals is actually based on Dame Jilly Cooper’s famous novel ‘Rutshire Chronicles’. The story of this eight-episode series is set in the 1980s. It takes you into a world of power struggles, intrigue and ambition. Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell), is a former Olympian and politician. Lord Tony Badingham (David Tennant), is the owner of a television channel. There is strong competition between the two. The story changes when things in the boardroom start affecting personal life. It also stars Aidan Turner, Katherine Parkinson and Nafessa Williams. This series will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from October 18.

The Devil’s Hour Season 2 (October 18, Prime Video)

In season 2 of The Devil’s Hour, Lucy Chambers (Jessica Ren) and Gideon (Peter Capaldi) team up to stop a terrifying crime. Following Season 1, Gideon, who has knowledge of the future, seeks to change fate. While Lucy wants to escape the horror that haunts her every morning at 3:33 am. This is called the devil’s time. This season is set in a high-stakes thriller, as the two face increasing threats and pursue a mysterious monster. Lucy also has to protect her son Isaac. This series will be released on Prime Video on October 18.

The Office (October 18, Netflix)

The Office is back, with an Australian twist. This is the 13th version of the popular mockumentary series. The franchise’s first lead actress Felicity Ward brings a fresh perspective. She plays Hannah Howard, the clueless and carefree managing director of the fictional packaging company Flinley Craddick. Set in Sydney, the eight-episode series follows Howard as he/she desperately tries to keep his/her office open. This series will be released on Prime Video on October 18.

Woman of the Hour (October 18, Netflix)

The film Woman of the Hour is the debut film of director Anna Kendrick. She is also playing the role of Cheryl Bradshaw in it. It is based on the chilling true story of 1970s serial killer Rodney Alcala. he/she was known as ‘The Dating Game Killer’. What begins as a matchmaking episode takes a strange dark turn, with murder and betrayal ahead. This series will stream on OTT on Netflix from October 18.
