People will say something… Along with Maharashtra-Jharkhand election dates, Election Commission has said a big thing on EVM and exit poll.

New Delhi: Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly election dates were announced by the Election Commission on Tuesday. Voting will take place in Maharashtra in a single phase on November 20. Whereas in Jharkhand, voting will be held in two phases. Voting will take place on 13 and 20 November. The results of both the states will come on November 23. Along with these two states, the dates of by-elections were also announced. With the announcement of election dates, the Election Commission in a few gestures targeted those who are raising questions on the impartiality of the Election Commission. After the Haryana elections, once again questions were raised about EVMs and this time the EVM battery is very low. There was discussion. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar mentioned the success of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir elections and also answered the questions being raised on the Election Commission with the help of a film song. Rajiv Kumar said that people will say something, it is the job of the people to say…

Exit polls don’t want to go into this topic…
Rajiv Kumar answered in great detail the question asked regarding EVM and exit poll and explained why there is no scope for doubt on EVM. But he/she also said that this will not happen in future. Rajeev Kumar said that the exit poll does not want to go into this topic but it has many consequences which are important to know. he/she said that after the exit polls, an expectation arises regarding the results, whoever it may be in favor of. But when it does not match with the real results, then there is a need for introspection in this direction also.

Why do the results appear changed?
he/she mentioned the last few elections and said that the exit polls proved wrong. he/she said that the surveyors will have to see what the sample size was. If the match did not happen then where was the mistake? Rajeev Kumar said that counting usually takes place on the third day after the polling ends. Meanwhile, exit poll results keep coming. he/she said that our first real counting starts at 8.30 but even before that the results start appearing at 8.00.

need for self correction

he/she said that sometimes it seems that preliminary results are shown according to the exit poll results. Later many times the results appear to have changed. Rajiv Kumar said that at 9.31 am we post the results of the first phase on our website. Suppose a reporter is present at the counting centre, then how are the results coming before 9 o’clock. Regarding exit polls, he/she said that our hands are tied but there is a need for self-correction.

This is EVM not pager

Question was asked on EVM. Rajiv Kumar said that some people are saying that when pager can cause explosion then why EVM cannot be hacked. The Chief Election Commissioner said that the pager is connected but the EVM is not connected. he/she said let me tell you two important things. EVM machines undergo FLC, first level checking. Occurs 5 and 6 months in advance. It is our responsibility to answer the questions of every candidate. Keeping it in storage, taking it out, taking it to the booth, sealing it, political party agents are present all the time.

arrangement of sign on battery
New batteries are inserted 5 or 6 days before voting. The machine as well as the battery also bear the agent’s signature. After the symbol is inserted in the EVM, it can proceed only after three layers of security. There is video photography of the entire process. It is also told which numbered machine will go to which booth. Somewhere there are 5 candidates and somewhere there are 15 candidates and the battery operates accordingly.
