NEET UG Update: 17 students in Bihar committed fraud in the exam, NTA took strict action

National Eligibility Criteria UG 2024 Paper Leak Latest News: Amidst the investigation into the irregularities and paper leak in the NEET UG exam, now action has been taken against 17 student candidates by the NTA and they have been barred from the upcoming exam. According to the latest update, 17 candidates who appeared in the NEET-UG exam held on May 5 from centers in Bihar have been expelled from the exam after malpractice was detected. The National Investigation Agency i.e. NIA has also investigated in this regard and confirmed the malpractice on the part of the student candidates.

Meanwhile, the NTA i.e. National Testing Agency conducted the exam again for 1,563 candidates who were earlier given grace marks due to less exam time. Out of these 1,563 candidates, only 813 students i.e. about 52 percent of the students appeared for the exam again. Revised marks will be issued to the students who appeared for the exam today.

Students who do not appear for the exam will get their original marks:

Students who have not appeared for the re-examination will now be given their old original marks, that is marks without grace marks. According to the data, none of the two candidates from Chandigarh appeared for the examination. 287 out of 494 students from Haryana, 291 out of 602 students from Chhattisgarh, 1 student from Gujarat, and 234 students from Tura in Meghalaya appeared for the examination.

NEET PG exam postponed:
Recently, NEET PG exam has also been postponed. The exam was to be held on Sunday, 23 June but just a few hours before that, NEET PG exam has been postponed. NTA has taken this step after cases of irregularities in NEET UG came to light and soon a new date for the exam will be announced.
