Navy Chief Dinesh Tripathi on a four-day visit to Bangladesh, bilateral defense relations will be discussed

New Delhi: Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi is going to Bangladesh for his/her four-day visit. The aim of which is to further strengthen bilateral defense relations and explore new avenues of cooperation in the maritime sector. This visit of Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi is taking place more than a week after the visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India during which both sides resolved to expand overall defense and strategic relations.

First official foreign visit after assuming command of the Navy

This is Admiral Tripathi’s first official foreign visit after taking over the command of the Navy two months ago. The Navy Chief is scheduled to hold extensive discussions with his/her Bangladeshi counterpart Admiral M Nazmul Hasan and other top officials of the Bangladesh Army, including the Army Chief and the Air Force Chief. Admiral Tripathi will also inspect the passing-out parade at the Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA) in Chittagong on July 4. As per the schedule, the Navy Chief will visit some key defense establishments including addressing the National Defense College of Bangladesh in Dhaka. The Indian Navy said in a statement, the objective of this visit is to strengthen bilateral defense relations between India and Bangladesh and explore new avenues of naval cooperation.

In an official statement issued by the Navy, it was said that this visit of Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi will strengthen the relations between the navies of the two countries. Along with this, the friendship of the two countries will also progress. Let us tell you that in the last few years, maritime cooperation between India and Bangladesh has become very strong. Bangladesh is also a major partner in India’s Neighborhood First policy. The Navy officer said that under the ‘Sagar’ scheme, both the countries will face the upcoming challenges together.
