Left his/her sick mother in the hospital and came to play IPL, KKR gave him/her a chance in the playoffs.

Ahmedabad. The Kolkata Knight Riders team, which has shown a stellar performance so far in this season of the Indian Premier League, is one step away from winning the trophy. The team registered a one-sided victory in the qualifier against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz told that he/she left his/her ailing mother in the hospital to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL playoff against Hyderabad because he/she considers this team as his/her family.

Gurbaz, who played his/her first match this season, played an important role in KKR’s victory by scoring 23 runs in 14 balls apart from taking two catches. he/she came to the team in place of Phil Salt of England. he/she got a place in the team in the last league match against Rajasthan Royals but the match was washed out due to rain.
KKR defeated Sunrisers by eight wickets and made it to the finals. Gurbaz told the media after the match, “A cricketer should always know what he/she has to do.” Very few cricketers are able to play in league cricket. One should perform one’s best when given a chance. One should always be prepared even if one does not get the opportunity.

Gurbaz said that KKR had decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Sunrisers captain Pat Cummins’s decision to bat after winning the toss proved wrong. Gurbaz said, “We know how strong the batting of Sunrisers is. We should know the target so that we can play accordingly. We bowled well and restricting a team like Sunrisers to 160 runs was a big thing.
