Large-scale search operation continues after terrorist attack on Indian Air Force convoy in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir




Security personnel launched a massive search operation on Sunday morning after a terrorist attack on an Indian Air Force convoy a day earlier, in which one personnel was killed, officials said.

According to officials, a search operation was conducted to catch the terrorists. Security forces have set up checkpoints and checking is going on in the area.

Additional forces of the Indian Army reached Jarra Wali Gali (JWG) in Poonch late Saturday night.

The incident occurred at Sanai village, as a result of which the injured personnel were immediately rushed to the Command Hospital, Udhampur, where unfortunately, one of them died due to his injuries.

Following the attack, the local Rashtriya Rifles unit launched a cordon and search operation in the surrounding area in collaboration with the Army and police to trace the culprits.

The Indian Air Force confirmed the incident through a tweet, stating that the targeted convoy had been secured, and emphasizing the ongoing investigation.

“A convoy of Indian Air Force vehicles was attacked by terrorists in Poonch district,” officials said.

The vehicles have been secured inside the air base in the general area near Shahsitaar.
