‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ could not earn even 1 crore on the first day, ‘Humare Barah’ and JNU sank in the dust

Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibran Khan and Nayla Grewal’s ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ has had a very bad start at the box office. After 21 years, this film has failed to create the same magic as ‘Ishq Vishk’. On the first day, this Gen-Z love story has not done a business of even Rs 1 crore in the theatres. While the condition of two more films released on Friday, 21 June, ‘Humare Barah’ and ‘Jahangir National University (JNU)’ is worse than bad. Both the films have been controversial. Out of these, ‘Humare Barah’ also had to face court cases, but all this has not helped. Out of the three films released on Friday, there were expectations from ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari. This is because the film has new faces and fresh couples as well as the nostalgia of the 21-year-old film. But sadly, the film has failed to impress the audience. According to a report by sacnilk, the film has collected a net of only Rs 85 lakh on the opening day.

Earnings may increase slightly on weekends

‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ may sail a little over the weekend. But the way the reviews of the film have come, it seems to be faltering at the box office in the coming weekdays. However, on Friday, the audience occupancy in the film’s shows was 15.37%. This is not too bad either. But the problem is that it is facing ‘Munjya’ which is doing excellent business. Apart from this, ‘Chand Champion’ is doing good business.

‘Humare Barah’ and ‘JNU’s condition is pathetic

On the other hand, Annu Kapoor’s ‘Humare Barah’ has not got any benefit from the controversy. This film could earn only 4 lakh rupees on the opening day. There is no hope of improvement in its earnings in the future. Whereas the condition of Urvashi Rautela and Ravi Kishan starrer ‘Jahangir National University’ is so bad that it has been limited to 1-2 lakhs only.

The same happened with ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story’

‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘The Kerala Story’, made on controversial issues, created a stir at the box office. But for some time now, films made on such subjects are not able to make much impact. A similar situation happened with Ada Sharma’s film ‘Bastar’. No one knew when the film came and when it went. Anyway, the box office is now counting on Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ for earnings. This film is releasing in theatres on June 27.
