If there is even a minute’s delay from 9:15, it will be half day’s work; lateness of government officials in office will not be tolerated anymore!

New Delhi: Let’s go to office a little late today… If you are a government employee and go to office thinking like this, then now the effect of this thinking will be seen on your pocket. Actually, the central government has started tightening the noose on government officials who come late to office. While giving a new order, the central government has clearly said that government employees will be allowed to come to office late by 15 minutes at the most. If someone is late by more than 15 minutes, then he/she will have to work half day.

When do I have to reach the office now?

Central employees will now have to get into the habit of reaching the office by 9.15 am. If they do not reach their office by this time and do not punch in the biometric system, they will be forced to work for half a day. This rule of reaching on time will apply to all, senior and junior. Some senior officials say that they do not have a fixed working time as they usually leave the office after 7 pm. Apart from this, they also say that since Covid, with the availability of electronic files, they often work from home, even on holidays.

Employees must be informed before taking leave

In the order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, it is clearly stated that if an employee is unable to come to the office on any day, he/she will have to inform his/her senior about it first. If there is an emergency, then he/she will have to apply for leave. Only after that he/she will be given leave. Let us tell you that central government offices are open from 9 am to 5:30 pm, but it is common for junior level employees to come late and leave early, even employees involved in public related work do this, which causes inconvenience to people.

Biometric attendance is mandatory

Biometric attendance was stopped during the Corona epidemic, but last year the central government has started it again for the employees. However, even after that many employees are not using it. In such a situation, it has now been made mandatory to take attendance through biometric system. By taking attendance through this, it is known which employee has come to the office on time and who has come late.
