New Delhi. 22 year old batsman Sai Sudarshan has broken the years old record of IPL. Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudarshan played a century against Chennai Super Kings on Friday. During this innings he also completed his 1000 runs in IPL. Sai Sudarshan has become the fastest Indian to score 1000 runs in IPL.

The match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans was played in IPL on Friday. In the 59th match of IPL 2024, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and asked Gujarat Titans to bat first. Host Gujarat Titans’ openers Sai Sudarshan and Shubman Gill seized this opportunity with both hands and made a partnership which had never happened before in the 17-year history of IPL.

Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan both scored centuries in this match. Both of them completed their centuries on 50-50 balls. This is Shubman Gill’s sixth century in IPL while Sai Sudarshan has achieved this feat for the first time. Sai Sudarshan was out after scoring 103 runs on 51 balls. Gill played an innings of 104 runs in 55 balls.

Sachin-Rituraj’s joint record broken
This was Sai Sudarshan’s 25th innings in IPL. He completed 1000 runs of IPL in this innings. With this, Sai Sudarshan has become the Indian to score 1000 runs in the shortest innings. Before him, this record was in the names of Sachin Tendulkar and Rituraj Gaikwad, who achieved this feat in the 31st innings. The overall record is in the name of Shaun Marsh. Australia’s Shaun Marsh had completed his one thousand runs in the 21st innings. Lendl Simmons 23 and Matthew Hayden have touched the figure of one thousand runs in the 25th innings.
