Instead of hailing AAP in Delhi, focus on the deteriorating situation in Punjab… Why did JP Nadda say this to Bhagwant Mann

New Delhi : Taking aim at Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the BJP on Friday said he/she should focus on the deteriorating financial condition of Punjab instead of hailing the Delhi unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Nadda made the remarks in the context of the Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA) in Punjab banning cashless treatment under the government’s health insurance schemes, including the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).

600 crores not paid

PHANA had recently announced to stop all cashless services under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, citing the government’s non-payment of Rs 600 crore to the association as the reason. Reacting to this, Union Health Minister Nadda said in a post on ‘X’, “Ayushman Bharat was conceptualised to help economically backward families with assured medical cover and today due to the mismanagement of the state government under AAP in Punjab, people are being deprived of free healthcare.”

Pay hospital dues as soon as possible

Nadda questioned why Chief Minister Mann’s government has not paid the dues of private hospitals even though before the elections he/she had promised to open more clinics and health centres. he/she said, “I urge Chief Minister Mann to clear the dues of the hospitals as soon as possible, as many families, especially our hardworking farmers, are benefiting under the Ayushman Bharat program. Instead of hailing the party unit in Delhi, Mann should focus on the worsening situation in Punjab.”
