Australian University Campus in Gurugram: Indian students will no longer need to go to Australia to study Bachelors or Masters. Soon the campuses of Australia’s top universities are going to open in India also. A delegation of a consortium of six top universities of Australia has shown interest in setting up a campus in Gurugram. Haryana Government has given this information. This campus can be established in Gurugram, Haryana for studying undergraduate courses.
Nick McCaffrey, Deputy High Commissioner of the Australian High Commission, was leading the delegation. he/she met Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini. The delegation also included Counselor Matthew Johnston, Minister for Education and Research of the Australian High Commission, Professor Simon Biggs, Vice Chancellor of James Cook University and representatives of other universities. Professor Biggs has been elected President of Innovative Research Universities (IRU) this year. This group is an organization of six major research universities in Australia.

Government offered to provide building for the campus

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini welcomed the delegation. he/she also assured full support from the Haryana government. The CM promised to provide a ready building and all other necessary facilities to start the campus. According to the statement issued by the government, an MoU will also be signed in this regard soon. The CM said that the Foreign Cooperation Department of the Haryana Government will work closely with IRU as per its needs to take this project forward.

Which courses can be studied?

The state government’s statement said, after the opening of the campus in Gurugram, students will not need to go to Australia. They will be able to study undergraduate courses only by staying in Haryana. The statement said, “After completing their studies, the students will get a certificate from the Australian University, which will provide them job opportunities in Haryana as well as across the world. Due to this initiative, the expenditure on tuition fees of the students of Haryana will be reduced. Lakhs of rupees will be saved and other expenses incurred on studying abroad will also be reduced.

The statement further said, “In this campus, students will be able to pursue four-year integrated courses after class 12th. Initially, courses will be offered in subjects like Software Engineering, Cyber ​​Security, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Financial Technology, Tourism and Hospitality and Sports Management.” Will be available. Over time, more courses will be introduced as per the needs of the state and the community.”
