India China Agreement: Patrolling started in Depsang-Demchok of LAC with Diwali, final verification also completed

New Delhi: Army patrolling started in Depsang and Demchok areas on LAC in Eastern Ladakh. On Thursday, the day of Diwali, the Indian Army patrolled in Demchok and Depsang and along with it the final verification also took place. On Friday, the Army started long range patrolling in Demchok. Long distance patrolling will start soon in Depsang also. According to sources, after completion of aerial verification in Demchok and Depsang, a team was sent for patrolling.

The round of meetings will continue

Army sources said, the kind of regular patrolling that was done before April 2020, took place in Demchok on Friday and will also happen in Depsang soon. However, the first patrolling has been done at both the places on Thursday. According to sources, the meeting will continue at the local military commander level so that trust can be strengthened. Indian soldiers have to go for patrolling at five places in Depsang and two places in Demchok.

Diwali sweets were given at the border

Apart from Depsang-Demchok on LAC, India and China’s armies also gave Diwali sweets to each other on Thursday at all the meeting points. This happened at all points across the LAC. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju celebrated Diwali in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh and also spoke to Chinese soldiers on the border. Let us tell you that India and China have signed a new agreement in Demchok and Depsang, under which the soldiers of both the countries will return to the situation before April 2020. The agreement is only for these two areas and does not apply to places where patrolling was already taking place.
