New Delhi. What was expected happened on the first day of India vs Bangladesh second test match. In this match which started on Friday, most of the first day’s play was lost to rain. Firstly this match started late by an hour. The game could last only for about 3 hours after it started. After this the rain came and did not stop. Therefore, the day’s play was declared over even before 3 pm. At the time of stumps, Bangladesh’s score was 107 runs for 3 wickets.

Bowling after winning the toss for the first time in 60 years…
In the Test match which started one hour late in Kanpur, India won the toss and bowled first. This was the first time in 60 years when a captain in Kanpur did not win the toss and choose to bat first. If we talk about the overall Test matches played in India, then this was the first time in 9 years when the Indian captain won the toss and decided to bowl first. Earlier in 2015, Virat Kohli had taken such a decision in the Bangalore Test.

Akash Deep gave a double blow
Bangladesh made a good start by batting first. he/she did not lose a single wicket for the first 40 minutes. After Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj, Indian captain Rohit Sharma also gave the ball to Ravichandran Ashwin, but did not get success. After this the captain called Akash Deep and this bowler got a wicket in his/her very first over. he/she got Zakir Hasan (0) caught by Yashasvi Jaiswal. Akash Deep then trapped Shadman Islam (24) LBW in his/her third over.

Ashwin got the third wicket
Ravichandran Ashwin got the third wicket for India. After the lunch break, he/she gave India its third success by LBWing the opposing captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto. Nazmul Hasan Shanto scored 31 runs in 57 balls. With the dismissal of Nazmul Hasan, Ashwin has become the Indian with the highest wicket taker in Asia.

After lunch break only overs could be played. After this it started raining and the match was stopped. It kept raining for about an hour. Seeing the condition of the field, the umpires declared the day’s play over at 2.52 pm. Mominul Haq (40) and Mushfiqur Rahim (6) were unbeaten at the time of stumps.
