‘I take responsibility for the defeat… this is the worst phase of my career’

New Delhi. A shameful record has been added to the name of Rohit Sharma. Under his/her captaincy, for the first time, India has been defeated by an Indian team in a three-match Test series. Before this, this had not happened under the captaincy of any Indian captain. New Zealand created history by defeating India 3-0 in the Test series. Rohit is very sad with this defeat. he/she described this as the worst phase of his/her career. Rohit said that this defeat is not going to be easily digested. I take full responsibility for this defeat. Rohit said that he/she also disappointed with the bat while his/her strategy in captaincy did not prove effective.

India had to face defeat by 25 runs in the third and final test against New Zealand. Due to which it had to face a shameful defeat of 0-3 on home ground for the first time. Chasing the target of 147 runs, the Indian team was all out for 121 runs. Rohit Sharma said in the press conference after the match, ‘This kind of performance will be the worst phase of my career and I take full responsibility for it.’ he/she said that losing a Test series like this on home ground cannot be ‘easily digested’. According to Rohit, ‘It is difficult to digest the matter of losing the series. Losing a series, losing a Test match is never easy. This is not an easy thing to digest. We did not play our best cricket. New Zealand performed better in the entire series. We made many mistakes.

‘We did not play our best cricket in these conditions’
Rohit said, ‘In the first two Tests we did not score much runs in the first innings. We failed as a unit. When you are chasing a target like this you want runs to get on the board. This was in my mind but it did not happen. It doesn’t feel good when what you want doesn’t happen.’ The Indian captain also admitted that he/she is disappointed with his/her own performance. he/she said, ‘I enter the field with certain plans and those plans did not succeed in this series. We did not play our best cricket in these conditions and are suffering the consequences for it.
