Historic semi-final, Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat


New Delhi. The first semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup is being played between South Africa and Afghanistan. Both teams have come with the dream of making it to the finals for the first time. Afghanistan has made an upset and made it to the semi-finals of an ICC event for the first time. South Africa, on the other hand, made this journey by being on top in the group and Super 8. Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan won the toss and decided to bat first in this match.

Journey to South Africa
The South African team, which was placed in Group D in the first round of the T20 World Cup, achieved the top position by winning all four league matches. This team defeated Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal. The team’s winning streak continued in the Super 8 as well. The team topped this round as well by defeating England, West Indies and America.

Journey to Afghanistan
The T20 World Cup has been like a dream for Afghanistan so far. The team of Group C won three out of four matches. The Afghan team defeated New Zealand, Uganda and New Papua Guinea. After losing to India in the Super 8, they created a big upset by defeating Australia and then secured a place in the semi-finals by defeating Bangladesh.
